GKL scores more ECOS success with Delaware 15 February 2010 Chesterfield, 17 February 2010 - Key staff of leading hospitality and food service business Delaware North Companies UK (DNC), are now using vehicles supplied by GKL Leasing of Chesterfield. DNC staff included in the scheme are located at prestigious UK venues such as Wembley and the Emirates in London and Pride Park, Derby, as well as a number of high profile airport locations, where they manage and deliver the food and hospitality service.
GKL Leasing agreed the employee car ownership scheme (ECOS) with DNC towards the end of last year, in what is yet another example of companies turning to GKL for this type of complex scheme.
Katie Minchin, DNC's UK Corporate Head of Human Resources, commented: "We have not used an ECOS before but decided to use one to provide flexibility of choice for employees eligible for company cars. Additionally, it acts as a retention tool for our business as the flexible approach offers eligible staff much greater choice whilst being tax efficient for the company.
"In choosing GKL we wanted a leasing company that would be cost effective, flexible and supportive to all our car drivers and central administration team. We have been very pleased with the high level of support from GKL in the general set-up and administration of the scheme, and also the level of individual support they have been able to provide to each of our drivers on an individual basis."
Employee car ownership schemes give the employee effective ownership of the vehicle but allows companies to retain control of their fleet, ensuring that it is fully maintained, correctly insured and fit for purpose.
GKL's general manager John Stevenson commented: "We are really pleased that DNC has agreed to use GKL for its new ECOS package. We have a lot of experience in managing this kind of scheme, which for many companies and employees can be very complex.
"However, our one-to-one service offer means we can guide employees through their vehicle choices - which are often much wider than they realise. As a result the employee has a vehicle which best suits their personal and business requirements, and their pockets."
