Speed of decision-making can be critical. Most applications in larger companies are referred by the sales executive to the sales manager and then may have to go before a credit committee, which might meet just once or twice a week. GKL will consider your application and give you a decision immediately; a credit rating shouldn’t take longer than five minutes. You could be on the road on the same day!

Whilst on the subject of credit, it’s worth noting that we don’t automatically walk away from a deal if your credit rating isn’t as good as expected. We know that there are many innocent factors that can affect a credit rating, such as a recent change of address or an application for a loan, so we explore these eventualities to try and make sure that you are treated fairly. We will also write contracts based on directors’ guarantees, if necessary.

That speed of decision-making and provision of the information you need is one of the key strengths you can always count on because it makes your life much easier. You deal on a one-to-one basis with your account manager who will know all about your business and your vehicles, both at enquiry stage and throughout the contract. If your contact is unavailable for any unforeseen reason, another person, who will be known to you, will be on hand to give you the information you need. This level of personal service, backed by an outstanding administration team, is rare with bigger companies, where you may end up speaking to someone in a call centre; you are only one of a large portfolio of clients handled by your Account Manager; and the staff you deal with often move from company to company, leading to a lack of continuity and a low level of service.
